Diaz hasn't played in 8 games so his number was up, but Weise, come on? Habs don't need 4th liners when you have Prust, Moen, Parros, White and now Weise

In no way do I trade a YOUNG puck moving Erik Gustafsson for a mediocre Hainsey. That's ridiculous. Hainsey is a SLIGHTLY better version of Curtis Foster, which doesnt say much

How is trading our fourth-best defenseman for a fourth-line plug "a nice little deal" for the Habs? If the Canucks have effectively recognized Diaz's true value (which they probably have) and will use him appropriately, they absolutely raped Bergevin's rectum in that deal. Unbelievable.

Weise could have been waived, so I'm glad we got something in return.

I remember last year when Diaz was starting to break out a little bit offensively. How is he defensively?

That's exactly what Vancouver needs too. Ironically, Diaz is also the kind of player Montreal needs...

Very underrated defensively. He's a good two-way player who can do well in pretty much any situation. 5v5, PP, PK, he can do it all. He doesn't stand out in any area but he's solid all around. His main weakness is that he can't shoot, but he makes up for it with his passing. Should be a great 3rd pairing D or a good replacement in case of an injury to the top-4.

I'm going to go drown my sorrows in liquor now.

Diaz represents everything that is wrong with Montreal's mentality. undersized, European, soft, timid. his game is made for non-contact international hockey.

Hainsey falls under the "puck moving" category? That category is getting pretty big.

minor league players on mediocore teams, these guys wouldn't even play on the 4th line for contending powerhouse teams such as the pens, hawks, shark, leafs etc.

Didn't see this move on the rumour chart....but then again didn't see Dreger, Kyp or anyone else come up with this either...

Since when is Hainsey a puck mover?

Soft, very soft and he makes really bad outlet passes. Remember Eller in the playoffs? He's made the same suicide passes quite a few times this year. Recently he's been in the press box because Beaulieu has played better as has Bouillon.

Truthfully no room for him with Pateryn, Nygren, Tinordi all set to play here.

this is what it is... a trade where both fanbases don't care what the return is, just happy to be rid of their player.
